The Greatest Astrologist - CH030

Title: Scientific Astrology, Materialistic Numerology

Chapter 030 - “Yes, yes. We will all be liberated one day.” (3)

Tan Muxing could just picture how she would claim to be a Marxist in front of those who studied metaphysics. It was no wonder that she would piss everyone else off.

“Is that why Teacher doesn’t like making money from readings?” asked Qiu Qingkong.

“Not really. I’d charge more if they are rich and less if they are not. I will do my best to minimize the wealth gap,” said Chu Qianli.

Qiu Qingkong nodded after she listened to Chu Qianli then reached out an added a 0 after the prices. “Then for sure we should adjust the prices.”

“Why?” Chu Qianli’s eyes widened in surprise.

Qiu Qingkong, “Because they were too low. That was the cost of 2 cups of milk teas.”

“Is that how much milk tea cost for you city dwellers?” Chu Qianli was stunned.

Tan Muxing chimed in. “Your original pricings were not expensive for our classmates. Granted, our school is also a little different than the others.”

Qiu Qingkong expressed her agreement. “Teacher really knows nothing about the materialistic world.”

Chu Qianli retreated tactically and asked incredulously, “How do you know that I overlook the materialistic word? You have never seen my star chart before?”

Tan Muxing commented softly, “…… because there are many things in this world that you don’t need to be an astrologist in order to know.”*

Tan Muxing noticed that Chu Qianli lacked a lot of common sense in life. She was not kidding when she said she was only good at matters related to the stars. Her desk was a mess everyday and she slept through all classes that she wasn’t interested in.

She had no idea how rich their classmates were nor was she aware of how much things cost or pay attention to fancy watches and luxurious cars.

For example, the pen that Qiu Qingkong was holding in her hand right now was a very expensive one but it was probably just a regular pen in Chu Qianli’s eyes.

Qiu Qingkong and Tan Muxing had a discussion over the pricings for Chu Qianli’s divinations and came to an agreement.

Chu Qianli looked at the new pricings nervously and gained a new understanding of her new environment. She had to stop herself from whimpering. “Wuwuwu, the evil capitalists. One of these days we will be able to liberate all mankind……”

She knew that those in their school were rich but there was limitation on her imagination on what “rich” was. She had yet to adjust from the cost of living from the village.

Tan Muxing showed his client the finished product on his cellphone as he comforted her nicely, “Right, right. We will all be liberated one day. How does the typesetting look to you?”

Chu Qianli provided a scribbling piece of notes. Her writing had been embellished by Qiu Qingkong and typeset by Tan Muxing. It had now been turned into a delicate-looking digital picture.

Chu Qianli looked at the star and moon designs that decorated the words and said in astonishment, “This looks incredible. Did you just draw this? You can design?”

Tan Muxing felt a bit awkward. “Mmhmm. I design clothing from time to time. Its not that much different from this.”

Chu Qianli, “That’s amazing. Are you going to become a designer in the future?”

Tan Muxing was at a loss immediately, “Um, that……”

Qiu Qingkong raised her hand. “Teacher, his family owns a few clothing brands. He may not make it to the designer rank.”

Similar to the He family, Qiu Qingkong’s family, too, had only grown in recent years and were in the businesses of media, networking, or finance.

Tan Muxing’s family, however, were in industry. They had been rich since the generation of his grandfather’s grandfather. His family was in a vast number of areas and clothing was only tip of the iceberg.

Staring quietly at her deskmate, Chu Qianli realized that she was the naïve one here.

Tan Muxing looked back at Chu Qianli, embarrassed. He was ashamed by his rank and he apologized weakly, “Sorry.”

He had betrayed the people.

He could do nothing more than apologizing to the Marxist.

Chu Qianli, “……” She hadn’t expected the man with big eyes and thick brows would also have betrayed the revolution!

As an astrologist who had just stepped foot in this materialistic world, Chu Qianli had experienced the double shocks from both Qiu Qingkong and Tan Muxing. She no longer felt any guilt in charging her classmates for readings.

She felt that the need to narrow the wealth gap was dire and that she must do her part in minimizing China’s Gini coefficient.
