Chapter 074 - He needs their parents to come and take care of their own child. (2)

The three of them got up and started heading toward the living room. He Zhenghe couldn't help but teased, “If Shichen is home, he would be urging you to go do your homework assignments right now.”

Chu Qianli’s eyes beamed, “Is the subtext that I won’t need to work on my homework assignments since he is not home?”

Yu Shen smiled and said, “No, it means that you can take a break first and didn’t need to rush to get to it.”

Yu Shen had just walked over to the couch when she suddenly felt a pang of dizziness. She rested a little with her hand on the side of the couch and rubbed her temple.

See that Yu Shen had stopped all of a sudden, Chu Qianli asked, concerned, “What’s the matter, Mom?”

“Oh, nothing. I guess I just got up too fast,” said Yu Shen. “One gets all sort of problems when they get old. I even have night sweats.”

Chu Qianli quickly asked, “Have a doctor check you out?”

Yu Shen, “It’s nothing serious. I’ll feel better in a little bit.”

He Zhenghe, “What did they say after your last check up?”

“Everything’s normal.”

The He family members had checkups from time to time and it had been a while since Yu Shen’s last checkup. But she remembered that her health was fine from before so she didn’t pay much attention to any minor discomforts.

Chu Qianli, on the other hand, was very anxious. She walked around and around Yu Shen and suggested, “What say I perform a reading for you, Mom?”

Yu Shen didn’t know what to make of that. “Can astrology treat illnesses?”

Chu Qianli shook her head, “No, but it can provide us with information like whether or not you are ill.”

Planets and zodiac signs correlate to different body parts. It will take doctors and medicines to treat illnesses but one could see where the problems lie with astrology.”

He Zhenghe smiled and said, “Let her do a reading then. Look, she is more nervous than you. She worries that you are sick.”

Like an ant over a hot pan, Chu Qianli would not let it go.

Hearing He Zhenghe’s words, she lowered her head and said, “Yes, I am very afraid of being ill and scared of dying.”

Chu Qianli had always been cautious when it came to divination. She was deadly afraid that if she said the wrong things, she would be beaten up by the inquirer. She was definitely the number one person who worried about dying.

Naturally, it hurt Yu Shen to see her daughter dispirited with her head lowered. She quickly said, “Alright, alright. You can do a reading.”

Truth be told, Yu Shen didn’t see any relationships between finding out illness and astrology but she wasn’t able to turn down the enthusiastic Chu Qianli. She hoped that by doing so, it will help her daughter to stop worrying.

Chu Qianli didn’t go with dice or tarot this time. She went with horary astrology. Sitting down on the couch, she started plotting the start chart.

The sixth house and the primary star formed a bad combination. It indicated a possibility of the illness getting worse.

Chu Qianli frowned a little and suggested, “Dad? Have a doctor come to check Mom out?”

Yu Shen stopped them. “Nah, that won’t be necessary. I feel better already.”

Chu Qianli was a very mature child just a while ago but she switched right to an unruly child in a second or less. She chanted madly, “Check check check check check check check check check check……”

“……”

He Zhenghe finally had the doctor come over.

Yu Shen, sighed apologetically when she was being checked out, “I’m so sorry to make you make a trip here. My daughter was too worried about my health……”

The doctor was close with the He family and his attitude was very friendly. “Is this the newest Versailles way to brag about how filial your children are?”

Yu Shen thought she was fine but the doctor suggested that she get examined the next day.

He Zhenghe was stunned. “What do you mean by more examinations?”

The doctor replied conservatively, “I am not sure yet. I urged you to have her checked out at the hospital.”

Yu Shen, “But I was fine during my last physical.”

“That was a while ago and you had been worrying about a lot as of late. It’s best to run some tests.”

Yu Shen was worried. She did have a lot on her mind. She had insomnia a lot or would have dreams that made her cry.

Chu Qianli’s return was a shock to everyone. Yu Shen wanted to learn more about her daughter’s past but, at the same time, was also aware that learning about her past would not do any good.

It was a very helpless feeling. She wouldn’t even know where to start to make up to her and all there was remaining was a lot of psychological pressure. As a mother, there was only very little that she could do. She could not turn back time.

He Zhenghe, “I’ll accompany you to get checked out tomorrow.”

Yu Shen nodded slowly then something occurred to her and she said, “Right, don’t tell Shichen about this. He had been preparing for his competition lately. We don’t want to distract him.”

“Qianli, too, will go to school like you normally would tomorrow. Your dad and I will go to the hospital.” After she had comforted her daughter, Yu Shen said, “Your reading is quite accurate.”

Chu Qianli nodded docilely. She knew nothing besides divination. She could not treat her mother.
