“Oh, Commander Wen, why didn’t you say so sooner if you using the flowers for medicines/ Had we know it was you, we wouldn’t have been so harsh!”

“Exactly. That being said though, what kind of medicines are you making out of Camellia?”

“Oh right? What kind of medicines are you making? This is the first time I’ve heard that you can make medicines out of camellia.”

Old Mr. Wen cleared his throat and pointed at Uncle Zong and said, “Xiao Zong had blood in his stool. Lots of it every time he goes. I worried that he would become amnesic at this rate so I asked around. Someone told me that camellia is good for blood in stool. That was why we went to pick the flowers.”

Big shock.

It was like being struck by lighting out of the blue.

Everybody there was speechless.

Uncle Zong’s eyes widened and he looked at Old Mr. Wen in disbelief. “Commander, you……”

Old Mr. Wen cut him off. “Xiao Zong, I understand that this is an embarrassing matter, but they wouldn’t believe us otherwise.” So just bear with it for now.

Uncle Zong, “……” Can you be any more shameless, Commander?

When the others heard that, they all looked over at Uncle Zong and directly at his butt.

Their looks were so piercing that Uncle Zong felt a burning sensation in his anus.

“Xiao Zong, we would never had guessed.”

“I know, right? Xiao Zong looks so healthy. It must be scary to bleed every time you go to the bathroom.”

“Take good care of yourself, Uncle Zong. We won’t pursue matters of the camellia any more. I think they have camellia at my hometown as well. I’ll bring some for you next time.”

“And I will as well.”

“Me too……”

Uncle Zong looked like he hated life. “……” Thanks but no thanks.

While Uncle Zong was being shamed, Commander Xiao was also very irritated at his end.

He had reunited with his granddaughter for less than 6 months and now she was already spoken for. That was a distressing thought.

As upset as he was, Tong Xuelu had already accepted the proposal. It would be uncouth for him to break the two up, as much as he would love to do so. He spoke with Old Mr. Wen and finally set the engagement date in May.

Tong Xuelu and her siblings had yet to meet the other elders and relatives on the Xiao family’s side. They would take their engagement as the opportunity for a large family gathering and also to change the surname of Tong Jiaming and Tong Mianmian.

Even though Wen Rugui had been lectured by Commander Xiao twice, anyone could tell that he was in a very good mood.

“Rugui, I heard that you are about to get engaged as well. Is that true?”

There was a barely visible smile on Wen Rugui’s lips. “Yes, we will be getting engaged in May, a month before Zhou Yan.”

“Well, congratulations. You and your girlfriend look good together.”

Wen Rugui’s smile broadened when he heard that. “Thank you.” He felt that they looked good together as well.

News of Wen Rugui’s engagement spread throughout the base quickly and many girls and management personnel sighed.

Such a good candidate had gone to someone else.

That being said, nobody tried to split him out with his girlfriend or seduce him.

Learning of Wen Rugui’s successful proposal, Zhou Yan felt said for his wallet. “Rugui, I’ve already taken you two to the government-operated restaurant three times since you’ve started dating. This is hurting my pocketbook!”

Huang Qimin picked his teeth as he relived the memories of the braised pork that afternoon. “Stop of that nonsense, Dog Poop Zhou. Why you blaming Rugui when you were the one with poor judgement?”

Zhou Yan sighed, “Rugui had been stuck for so long so I felt for sure that he was still stumped. I would never have guessed that he would be successful this time. How did you finally propose?”

Wen Rugui, “The dean was the one who told me about this method. He said you need to prepare fresh flowers, a ring, and get down on one knee.”

Zhou Yan’s eyes widened, “There are gold under a man’s knees. Tell me you didn’t actually get down on your knee.”

Huang Qimin, too, was stunned. He never heard of getting down on one’s knee to propose. They are not servants back in the old days.

Wen Rugui looked very calm. “She’s my girlfriend and will be the mother of my children. Why can’t I get down on one knee if it pleases her?”

He had heard that pregnancy was difficult and the actual childbirth was worse. It wasn’t like getting down on one knee was painful or anything. Nor did he feel that it would hurt his pride as a man.

Zhou Yan and Huang Qimin still didn’t get it. They would never do that for their wife/girlfriend.

And that was too luxurious. Never mind about the ring. But flowers too?

Mental note, they must make sure that their wife/girlfriend and Wen Rugui’s girlfriend would never meet.

The three returned to work after lunch.

Wen Rugui returned to his office, pulled out his little notebook, and scribbled seriously:
