Chapter 007 - And the lethality of three methods progressed in that same order. (2)
She wasn’t certain whether this was, indeed, the world within the book or just a parallel universe of the novel. After all, she possessed her old memories since she was born and had been taken away by her Grandpa when she was still a baby and had never lived a day with He Shichen or her parents.
Grandpa was He Shichen’s uncle and also a slightly famed scholar in fengshui. He was never wedded, had no children, never had contact with any of his relatives but he went pounding on the door for a change.
“You won’t be able to take care of this child. She was here for a reason.”
Perhaps those who studied numerology were all connected somehow. Even though Chu Qianli and Grandpa the same system but they shared a lot in common and got along very well with each other. He was the one who bought her her set of playing card, after he discovered regretfully that she wasn’t interested in the geomantic compass (luopan).
Shortly before Chu Qianli’s identity had been exposed, Grandpa passed away peacefully one day. He even looked calm and peaceful.
Those who could peek into the divine plans could have a glimpse into many things. They all knew the day that they would part with each other but none would mention it as if they had a tacit agreement.
Everybody came to this world to perfect one self and seek one’s meaning of life. Grandpa had completed his journey and obtained everything that he was after. Her solo journey began from this point forward.
Chu Qianli shuffled the deck at the table. Both her and Grandpa believed there she was there for a reason. She had yet to figure out that reason yet so she needed to wait for the time to come.
On the table, the playing card was flipped over one by one. The display on them, grouping together with each other, answered the question on her mind.
Chu Qianli sighed lightly. “Still no, huh?”
She would ask the same question from time to time but the answer had not changed for years. The opportunity, the conditions, and the individuals had yet to all come together.
Chu Qianli got up early the next day. She was enjoying her breakfast as she greeted He Shichen in a friendly manner. “Are you feeling better today, Big Brother?”
She truly had nothing against the male lead. Whether it was her start chart from the past or her current star chart, they both meshed well with He Shichen’s.
Besides, judging from his personality, he was not the kind who’d want to hurt an innocent person, which was why she greeted him proactively. At least they could look friendly on the outside.
What Chu Qianli didn’t know was that He Shichen thought of her as someone that was difficult to read. She was far from being “harmless.”
Looking at her being pretentious, he had mixed feelings. He was injured but he couldn’t possibly unleash in front of his parents. He finally said, “I am better.”
Chu Qianli, “Oh, good then. Your horoscope this week……”
He Shichen changed the subject that very second. He said in a deep voice, “Dad, how’s little sister’s transfer coming along?”
He Shichen worried that he would have a nervous breakdown if Chu Qianli continued to be correct. He really didn’t want to listen any more of her predictions.
“Oh, that was taken care of long time ago. All she needed to do is to pick up her uniform and materials when she gets to school. And you don’t need to worry about a thing at school, Qianli. You are in the same class as your brother,” said He Zhenghe in a mellow way.
Chu Qianli nodded docilely. “Mmm. I’m not worried.”
He Shichen gulped reflexively. He was quite worried right now.
He had no idea whether the explosion of the glass was just a coincidence or that she had planned it all along.
The He’s family car dropped the two of them off at the front of the school.
He Shichen handed Chu Qianli over to the teacher and walked away quickly, not wanting to spend an extra second there. He just wanted to quickly get back to the crowded classroom and keep a distance from Chu Qianli. He worried that more bizarre accidents would happen when he was alone.
