She had had very bad luck ever since she had left the Prosecutor’s Office.
First she was fired from the Women’s Federation. Then she had to put up with her family mocking her day and night. Finally, she was threatened by Xiang Peng to marry him.
Xiang Peng had letters that she had sent to Yan Yongan in the past. And he threatened her that he would turn those over to the Prosecutor’s Office if she didn’t do as she was told.
If that happened, then not only did she fabricate a fake hero along with Yan Yongan, she had also provided fake statements. With both of these crimes together would earn her at least 10+ years in jail.
Xiang Peng looked at her and said, “The only reason you were able to walk out of the Prosecutor’s Office alive was because Minister Yan did you a favor. As such, you must dedicate the rest of your life to the Yan family!”
Tong Zhenzhen frowned and asked, “What do you mean by that?”
Xiang Peng said, “Minister Yan had told me long ago that you are able to predict the future. He said you had told him that there would be economical reform next year and that everybody will be able to own their own business. The economy of this country will take off. Am I right?”
Tong Zhenzhen’s face dropped. “Why are you asking me if you already know that?”
Xiang Peng walked up and squeezed her chin. “Tong Zhenzhen, I suggest you to watch your attitude when talking to me. Otherwise, you just might not live to see another sunrise!”
Rage burned inside of Tong Zhenzhen. “Let go of me!”
Xiang Peng tossed her head aside, pulled out his handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his hands on it. “Neither you nor I could return to a government job. We will get married this year and apply to college together. Next year we will attend school while doing business on the side. We will be the richest people in China within 10 years!”
Tong Zhenzhen was very annoyed by his wiping his hands. Her eyes lit up when she heard his words. “Do you know how to do business?”
Xiang Peng snickered. “More than you do. But, as you can predict the future, you must work with me on this!”
Tong Zhenzhen looked Xiang Peng up and down.
The man had good features and he was tall. Speaking of, he was even better looking than Yan Yongan. Most importantly, he was younger than Yan Yongan.
With that in mind, she walked closer to Xiang Peng. “Can’t you say something nice if you want me to work with you?”
She was about to sit on Xiang Peng’s lap as she talked. Low and behold, Xiang Peng shoved her off as though she had leprosy without thinking.
Tong Zhenzhen fell two steps backward and landed on the floor. She felt that her bottom almost split apart. “What is your problem, Xiang Peng?”
Xiang Peng gave her a disgusted look. “Listen carefully, we are only a couple on paper. Do you ever try to touch me again!”
Tong Zhenzhen was enraged all over again. “Why do you want to marry me if you find me so disgusting?”
Xiang Peng smiled and said, “What if you run off if we are not married/”
Tong Zhenzhen frowned, “If we are only a couple on paper, what about kids? What is the point of being the richest in the country if we don’t have kids?”
Xiang Peng, “We will give all of our asset to Minister Yan’s two sons after we’ve become the richest people in the country. Meaning, we will be working for Minister Yan for the rest of our lives!”
Tong Zhenzhen had a perplexed look. “Minister Yan is about to be executed. Why would you want to dedicate your life to him?”
Xiang Peng blushed. “Minister Yan saved my life. It doesn’t matter. You must listen to me one way or another.”
Looking at how Xiang Peng was blushing, Tong Zhenzhen suddenly had it figured out. She looked at him in disbelief and said, “You… you like men?”
And that man was Yan Yongan!
