Old Mr. Wen looked down at the dumping that had fallen and felt sad about it. He picked it up and was about to apply the 5-second rule. Noticing that his grandson was looking at him, he finally gave up on that idea.

“What did you just say? To propose to the Tong’s?”

The tips of Wen Rugui’s ears turned red slightly. “Yes, I came home to discuss with you.”

Old Mr. Wen was so happy that he stopped eating the dumplings. “Oh my gosh. So you finally had it figured out. Here I thought I would never see your wedding day!”

He had been saying that Wen Rugui needed to get married soon and have babies. Nevertheless, all these years, he never really pressured him other than saying it.

With what had happened back then, he didn’t dare to pressure him.

Uncle Zong, too, was dabbing his eyes on one side.

Commander Xiao was Tong Xuelu’s grandfather and the only elder of the Tong family. His consent was vital to this marriage.

Wen Rugui nodded. “I know.”

The other day when Huang Qimin said he was going to share his life experiences with Wen Rugui, Wen Rugui found nothing remotely useful after a whole two hours.

Old Mr. Wen got excited. “Xiao Zong, take a look and see what kind of gifts we have at home. We will bring with us to the Tong’s.”

Uncle Zong quickly agreed. “Let me go take a look.”

Uncle Zong searched the storage and pulled out two cans of malt and two bags of snacks. “That’s all we have for now Commander.”

“Okay, that will have to do. Let’s head out now.”

Old Mr. Wen felt that that was a bit light but this was, after all, not the official proposal. These wouldn’t cut it when they propose officially.

Wen Rugui washed his face and combed his hair before they headed out.

Tong Xuelu had just gotten home and barely sat down when the men from the Wen family showed up at her door.

She looked at Wen Rugui in surprise. “You didn’t tell me you were coming back?”

Looking at her limpid eyes, Wen Rugui’s heart pounded. “There’s something that I want to talk to you about.”

Talk to her about?

Tong Xuelu blinked her almond eyes and looked puzzled.

Old Mr. Wen shoved Wen Rugui a little. “You fool. Don’t you think we should at least go inside first. Certainly we are not going to talk right here.”

Tong Xuelu felt even more puzzled. She shut the door and walked inside with them.

Walking inside the living room, Old Mr. Wen cleared his throat and said, “Go ahead, Rugui.”

The tips of Wen Rugui’s ears were burning a little. He looked at Tong Xuelu and said, “Xuelu, we’ve already known each other for 6 months and 20 days. I want to spend my life with you. Will you let me have that opportunity?”

Tong Xuelu was stunned beyond words.

She didn’t think that the purpose of Wen Rugui’s visit with her family members was to propose to her!
