Cai Chunlan poured her a glass of water personally. “Zhenzhen, you must be thirsty with all the talking that you’ve done. Here, have some water.”

Tong Zhenzhen was filled with pride but she maintained her humble smile on the outside. “Thank you, Second Sister-in-law. I am quite thirsty.”

Cai Chunlan gave Chen Yueling a complacent look and said, “Then hurry up and have some water. I’ll get you more if you need.”

Chen Yueling said nothing and Manager Tong was not happy about that. “Why are you just standing there? Didn’t you see that Zhenzhen is back? Hurry up and go get some meat dishes from the canteen.”

Chen Yueling said, “Mom, it’s not time for dinner yet.”

Manager Tong wanted to yell at her some more but Tong Zhenzhen interjected, “Mom, I’m not hungry yet. Sister-in-law can go later.”

Chen Yueling was surprised that Tong Zhenzhen had spoken up for her.

Seeing that Tong Zhenzhen was nice to Chen Yueling, Cai Chunlan quickly flattered her, “As the saying goes, like mother like daughter. If it wasn’t for that Tong Xuelu accusing our Zhenzhen, she would never end up at the ranch.”

With that, the living room plunged into silence for a few seconds.

That reminded Manager Tong about that time when she was badmouthing Tong Xuelu and was overheard. “Why did you bring her up again out of the blue?”

Cai Chunlan pushed her lips out and said, “Mom, I’m mad. She was the culprit for Zhenzhen being sent to the ranch while she had all sorts of good food at the restaurant as the manager. Had it not be Zhenzhen who made herself stood out, we would still the laughingstock.”

A poisonous look of jealousy flashed past Tong Zhenzhen’s eyes but she said, “Let’s let bygone be bygone. It was all a misunderstanding. I don’t hate Xuelu anymore so there no need to talk about the past anymore.”

Everyone was shocked to hear that from Tong Zhenzhen. They felt that she was now a completely different person.

Cai Chunlan asked carefully, “You really don’t hate Tong Xuelu anymore?”

Tong Zhenzhen shook her head. “I’ve never hated her before. I was just upset at the situation at the time. True with, we were meant to meet each other. I hope we can become friends later on.”
