Tong Xuelu had wanted to talk to Minister Lin about building a factory. With Tong Zhenzhen’s matters hanging over her head, she had no choice but to postpone that plan once again.

The country was still practicing collective economy right now. There was always a chance of being labeled as capitalist starting a factory right now.

Tong Xuelu was confident that she could make it happen without Tong Zhenzhen in the picture. But Tong Zhenzhen was released earlier than expected and there was someone helping her out behind her. Tong Xuelu felt that it was best to be cautious.

The employees at the restaurant reasonably admired and respected her but, for the sake of securing everyone’s fondness, Tong Xuelu decided to split the profit that they had made from the spice packet up to this point.

“First and foremost, our two chefs worked hard everyday in making all the good food at the restaurant. They are the pillars of this restaurant. As such, I will reward them with 20 yuan each!”

Chef Meng was stunned and Chef Lui’s face turned beet red when they heard that they would be getting bonuses.

Chef Lui’s eyes reddened. “Thank you, Manager Tong. I will work even harder from now on!”

When he quit his job at his hometown to come to Capital City, he was very worried that he would not be accepted by his new colleagues, or that others would not like his cooking.

He never would have thought that not only was he accepted, but he even received a bonus.

Chef Meng’s hands were shaking as well. “Me too! Me two!”

Tong Xuelu nodded. She then turned toward the three servers. “Meng Qingqing, Guo Chunyu, and Hu Lizhu. The three of you kept the restaurant clean everyday and you served the people. You had allowed our restaurant to have the best reputation among its peers. This was all because of your hard work. As such, I’d like to reward you with 10 yuan!”

Meng Qingqing and the others also blushed.

They didn’t get as much as the chefs did, but they could still buy a lot of things with 10 yuan.

And they were additional reward. It was as delightful as pies falling from the sky.

Finally Tong Xuelu turned toward Guo Weiping and Xiao Tian. “You two had studied hard under the two chefs and took turns going to buy ingredients with me. You will each receive 7 yuan!”

Guo Weiping was so emotional that he was short of crying out loud. “Thank you, Manager Tong. I will work very hard going forward and think of the restaurant as if it’s my own home!”

He was still a temporary worker and felt for certain that he would not be eligible for a bonus. But Manager Tong did not forget about him.

Xiao Tian was equally emotional. He hadn’t been there for very long and had been a quite one that never attracted any attention.

After the bonuses had been distributed, Tong Xuelu said, “As a member of the restaurant, I hope that you will treat and love the restaurant as if it’s your own home. As our reputation and popularity grow, many will be envious of us. We need to be more careful in the future.”

Seeing that Tong Xuelu had turned serious all of a sudden, the others didn’t know how to react all of a sudden.

Tong Xuelu, “First and foremost is our hygiene. We must guarantee the safety of our customers and never serve them any anything that had expired or was rotten. You do all still remember what happened previously, right?”

Everyone nodded.

“I hope you will learn your lesson from that even. In addition, if anyone asked about our restaurant, I hope that you will inform me of it. If anyone offer you money to do anything to harm the restaurant or me, I hope that you will think about what happened to Liu Dongchang and not do anything stupid!”

Chef Meng’s eyes widened. “Don’t worry, Manager Tong. I, Meng Da, would be the first to pledge my loyalty to you. Let me struck down by thunder if I ever do anything that would harm you or the restaurant!”

With Chef Meng as an example, all the others followed his head.

Tong Xuelu wasn’t superstitious but she was touched by the other’s sincerity. “I am glad that we are such a strong team. With us banded today, what can take us now?”

Guo Chunyu said loudly, “Nothing! Nothing can take us down!”

The others, too, shouted out after her. They were so loud that they startled those walking in front of the restaurant.

Tong Xuelu nodded in satisfaction. She felt that she had a lot of talent in marketing.
