The others couldn’t help but look over at Yan Yongan.

Yan Yongan’s heart sank. “I will not admit to anything that I had no done, but I will assist in your investigation.”

Deputy Director Zheng smiled and said, “That will be the best for all of us. This way please, Minister Yan.”

As soon as Yan Yongan was gone, the entire Finance Department started discussing loudly about the incident.

[Minister Yan was brought away by the Prosecutor’s Office!]

[Minister Yan’s fiancée almost drowned because she didn’t know how to swim!]

The two pieces of news spread throughout the entire department as though they had wings of their own.

Everyone was stunned.

Had Minister Yan really fabricated a fake public hero, he would probably never be seen there again.

Yan Yongan was brought all the way back to the Prosecutor’s Office.

The second he stepped foot into the Prosecutor's Office, the first person he saw was Su Yueshen.

Su Yueshen looked at Yan Yongan coldly, his eyes sharp like swords, “We met again, Minister Yan.”

Yan Yongan looked at Su Yueshen, “Comrade Su, I heard that you had been let go from your position. What are you doing here right now?”

Su Yueshen’s lips curved and he smiled and said, “Perhaps Minister Yan hasn’t found out that I was the one who turned you in.”

Yan Yongan, “……”

Yan Yongan had needed to give Tong Zhenzhen some sort of credit in order to get her out of the ranch. And making her a live Lei Feng was the easiest way to go.

He had also thought about it long and hard how to make her a live Lei Feng.

She would not be one who could save others in the brink of death. Putting out a fire involved too much danger. If the fire wasn’t strong enough, it would not make her seem heroic. If the fire was too strong, she would risk losing her own life.

He thought about it long and hard. Saving someone from drowning would be the easiest of it all.

As such, he had a relative who feigned drowning. In an effort to limit the number of people knowing the incident, he went to be the witness himself. Granted, him being the witness also lent more credit to the story and would help the words spread.

He had considered the likelihood of others finding out the truth but, in the history of time, nobody ever had to prove that they had the ability to save someone after the fact.

Just as someone had saved another from the fire, nobody would ever ask them to run into a fire again to prove their bravery. Similarly, nobody would ever ask Tong Zhenzhen to jump into a body of water to prove that she could swim.

Regardless, to be perfectly safe, he had another idea in mind.

He planned to have Tong Zhenzhen have a major illness after the wedding and then to keep her “locked up” at home. That way nobody would ever find out.

But of all the possible scenarios that he had thought about, he had not expected Su Yueshen being such a psycho!

Granted, he had no idea that Su Yueshen wasn’t the “psycho”. It was Tong Xuelu.

“Minister Yan, this is just the very beginning of it all.”

Su Yueshen was incredibly happy as he watched Yan Yongan turned pale bit by bit.

Just you wait. I am going to take you down to the 18th level of hell one step at a time!

The sinking feeling that Yan Yongan was feeling thickened.

Whatever did Su Yueshen meant by that? Did he really have other evidences?

Thinking about his late wife whom he had pushed down the cliff with his own two hands, his hands shook uncontrollably.

Yan Yongan was then brought to the interrogation room.

Deputy Director Zheng brought out all the evidence. “Minister Yan, your relative had already admitted to accepting money from you and pretended to drown. The reporter who wrote about it had confessed as well. What more do you have to say for yourself?”

Yan Yongan was pale like paper. “I have nothing to say to that.”

Just one more step. He was just one more step away from becoming the Deputy Director of the Revolutionary Committee!
