Ning Zhi was very familiar with the Lu’s place. She wasn’t nervous at all walking into their house again.

Mother Lu had a familiar feeling the second that she saw Ning Zhi and she liked her from the bottom of her heart.

“Don’t just stand there. Have a seat.” Mother Lu was smiley. She was happy just seeing Ning Zhi.

“Hi Aunty Lu. How are you?” Ning Zhi sat down on the couch with Lu Jue.

“Good, good, good.” Mother Lu’s eyes were stuck on Ning Zhi. Noticing that she was being too overly passionate and might scare the girl, she quickly looked away.

Mother Lu took a sip of the tea to suppress some of her excitement before she turned and said, “Xiao Zhi, right? What kind of tea do you like? I’ll have someone prepare them.”

“Any kind is fine,” said Ning Zhi with a smile.

The more Mother Lu looked at Ning Zhi, the more she liked her. For some inexplicable reasons, she felt that this girl in front of her belonged with her son. She was her rightful daughter-in-law.

As she thought about it, she removed the bracelet from her wrist. “This is my first time meeting you and I didn’t have anything prepared. Take this bracelet and be happy with Xiao Jue.”

Ning Zhi looked at the jadeite bracelet from Mother Lu. She remembered that this was the same bracelet that Mother Lu had given to her in the past. Lo and behold, it had become hers again.

Mother Lu worried that Ning Zhi would turn it down, so she just put it on Ning Zhi herself. “It’s so pretty. Your skin are light colored and all colors look good on you. Keep it for now. I’ll get you something better in the future.” Ning Zhi recalled that Mother Lu had always liked giving her jewelries. “Thank you, Aunty Lu.”

“Don’t mention it. We are family.” Mother Lu was already considering Ning Zhi as her daughter-in-law.

“Mom.” Lu Jue cleared his throat unnaturally, reminding her to rein it in some.

Mother Lu gave her son a look and finally reined in her passion a little. “What kind of food does Xiao Zhi like?”

“Zhizhi likes fish. And dessert.” Lu Jue answered for her. He already had his memories back and he remembered all of those.

Mother Lu smiled. “Alright. I will have those ready.”

Lu Jue was very close to Ning Zhi. He whispered into her ear softly, “Mom likes you whenever we are.”

Ning Zhi’s eyes curved. “Because I am so loveable.”

Lu Jue was kicked out the day that Lu Jue went to ask Old Mr. Ning to let Ning Zhi marry him.

That night, he told Ning Zhi, aggrieved, telling her that her grandfather did not like him.

Ning Zhi laughed for a long while before she finally went to have a talk with her grandfather. Just like she did the last time around, she told Old Mr. Ning in no uncertain terms that she liked Lu Jue and wanted to marry him.

Old Mr. Ning loved his granddaughter and would always put her feeling above everything else. He was upset; his heart ached; and he was also unwilling to part with her.

All he could do was to say that it would not be an easy path for Lu Jue and he wanted to see how serious Lu Jue was.

After that, Lu Jue would go and wait at the Ning’s front door every day, asking Old Mr. Ning for his permission to have Ning Zhi’s hand.

Truth was, he was only doing that to appease Old Mr. Ning and make him feel better.

Old Mr. Ning finally agreed to it three months later. He had a long talk with Lu Jue in his study and, when the two of them walked out of the study, Ning Zhi noticed her grandfather dabbed at the corner of his eyes stealthily and agreed to their marriage.

Lu Jue was very busy with planning the wedding in the time leading up to the wedding. Ning Zhi, on the other hand, stayed home and kept her grandfather company.

Perhaps because of her good mood, Ning Zhi had turned more lively and pretty. Her dark eyes limpid and bright. There was a healthy, pink glow on her face and making her even more stunning.

That night, after she had showered, Ning Zhi received a call from Lu Jue.
