It was very quiet inside the room.

Lu Jue was running a fever and his face was red and hot. Ning Zhi’s hand was forced onto his cheek and the soft and warm sensation made her felt that she was touching a steamer full of custard buns.

Lu Jue’s eyes were moist and she could see her reflection in his pitch-black eyes.

“Being coquettish is not going to work,” said Ning Zhi, toughing up. “Hurry up and sleep.”

She pulled her hand back but the burning and soft feeling from Lu Jue lingered on her hand.

Lu Jue did not say anything.

Ning Zhi pulled the blanket over his head. “Sleep.”

Lu Jue stuck his head back out from the blanket. His bangs that was still docile over his forehead just a second ago was now messy. Blinking his black eyes, he gave Ning Zhi an aggrieved look. “Hot.”

It was summer now and the blanket that Ning Zhi placed over him was a thick one. It was so hot that Lu Jue’s handsome face was red and there was sweat on his forehead.

“That’s how you will sweat.” Ning Zhi asked him, “Are you thirsty?”

Lu Jue nodded.

Ning Zhi got up and poured him a glass of lukewarm water. “The water is not hot. You need to drink more water when you are running a fever.”

With his hair messy and his look dazed, Lu Jue sat up, took the glass from Ning Zhi, held it with both of his hands and finished the entire glass in just a few gulps.

Ning Zhi took the empty glass from him and said, “I am going to leave the room if you don’t sleep soon.” Lu Jue would keep on looking at her if she stays and would never rest.

Lu Jue quickly laid back down. “No leave, Zhizhi. I sleep.”

Ning Zhi looked at him.

Lu Jue had no choice but to close his eyes docilely.

It was quiet inside the room. Nobody knew how much time had passed and Lu Jue’s soft breathing noises could be heard inside the room.

Ning Zhi reached her hand out and waved it in front of Lu Jue’s eyes to make sure that he really was asleep.

Even when he was sleeping his lips were pinched shut. His clear and handsome eyes and brows were clean and docile looking. Ning Zhi couldn't help but reached out and straightened out his messy hair before she walked away.

The door shut.

Lu Jue opened his eyes and his pitch-black eyes were bright. The light dimple on his cheek appeared.

Zhizhi touched him.

After dinner, Lu Jue still refused to leave. He looked at Ning Zhi in a sickly and pitiful way. “Zhizhi. I don’ go. Stay with Zhizhi.”

“I don’t need your company. You need to go home and get some rest. And take your medicines on time.”

Lu Jue did not respond to her. He was still running a fever. His handsome face red from this temperature. He looked at Ning Zhi with is pitch-black eyes and they were filled with desire.

Ning Zhi’s heart throbbed and softened instantly.

She turned and started walking upstairs, “Up to ou.”

Behind her, a smile appeared in Lu Jue’s eyes. Zhizhi was nice to him.

Ning Zhi regretted her decision the moment she returned to her room.

She felt that she had given in to Lu Jue more and more in the last few days. Her heart couldn't help but softened as soon as he looked at her with his black eyes.

She needed to shape up.

The night got darker.

Someone was knocking on Ning Zhi’s door when she got out of her shower.

Opening up the door, Ning Zhi was bedazzled by Lu Jue. He had on a red pajama covered with puppy print. That, along with his wet and messy hair, made him looked very cute.

“What do you want from me?” Lu Jue had a cool and handsome face but, right now, he was a milky kind of cool.

His hair was wet and, under his short hair, the tips of his ears were red. He brought his hands that he had been hiding behind him to his front. As it turned out, he was carrying a pillow with him. One that he had hidden behind himself earlier.
